Production Supervisor

Salem Stones is a family-owned and operated company supplying high quality granite memorials to Funeral Homes, Cemeteries, and Monument Builders nationwide. Our people and work habits define our high-performance culture, where we strive for superior customer service and outstanding employee experience every day.  This position will report to the Operations Manager and has the main job function of ensuring that all day-to-day production goals get accomplished and bottle necks are removed.  The candidate will be responsible for following schedules, being a liaison between departments, and managing production employees.  Some key qualities and experience in the following will be helpful, supervision, coaching, managing processes, process improvement, production planning, and strategy.


  • Works with the Production Coordinator to follow schedules, prioritize rush orders, and give accurate eta's
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within the department.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; and works with QC in resolving issues
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, forms of control, and implementing change
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Excel
