SolvChem, Inc. is seeking a reliable Plant Staff to work in our plant located at 881 Dividend Road, Midlothian, Texas  76065.

**Salary range is from $14.00 to $18.00, depending on experience.**

The hardworking, energetic Plant Staff individual is responsible for performing production work in a fast-paced production plant.  The duties and responsibilities for various aspects of the production process include: material handling, equipment operation, process monitoring, quality control, warehousing and various support activities such as; lifting, filling, packaging, loading & unloading product, labeling, counting & housekeeping duties.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and follow (verbal/written) procedures and policies set by management.
  • Perform manual warehouse duties as assigned or directed by Supervisor/Manager such as:
    • Supply production lines with product or remove finished goods to finished goods warehouse.
    • Count of the production they pull from the production lines by product
    • Staging, inspecting, and shipping outgoing finished goods
    • Receiving and inspecting incoming raw materials
    • Organization and documentation of warehouse contents
  • Availability for packing and stacking on packaging lines
  • Operators at times need to input data entry and bill of ladings for outgoing goods
  • Ensure that all paperwork is processed expeditiously and forwarded as needed
  • File paperwork in an organized electronic filing system and ensure Operations Supervisor is able to locate all paperwork/correspondence.
  • Ensure that the product is packaged successfully and efficiently, in accordance with all specifications.
  • Follow and maintain all safety policies & procedures at all times
  • Assist in the housekeeping, janitorial and in the maintenance of the plant facility by ensuring the upkeep, cleanliness, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Serve on company's in-plant or off-site emergency response team
  • Check In or Out with Leads/Supervisor at the beginning, end & during shift
  • Assist Operations Supervisor with plant opening process and closing process daily.
  • Communicate with Operations Supervisor on any plant issues or pending tasks.
  • Inspect, maintain & report all equipment if faulty; i.e. forklift, pumps, hoses, repackaging tools, regulators, fillers etc.' to maintenance and perform periodic daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annual, and annual facility/equipment inspections.
  • Place hazardous materials or waste into appropriate containers
  • Oversee and facilitate all chemical spill clean ups
  • Properly manage hazardous waste while inside container storage area or otherwise under company responsibility or control
  • Prepare for shipment and load hazardous waste destined for off-site recycling/disposal facilities; complete inspections and paperwork associated with shipping hazardous waste.
  • Comply with all company policies, rules and guidelines
  • Turn valves to regulate flow of liquids.
  • Mix ingredients
  • Read and interpret gauges and batch instructions
  • Ensure conformance to specification by ensuring that the product is packaged successfully and efficiently, in accordance with all specifications.
  • Feed or place items onto equipment for processing
  • Production and container inspections to ensure the quality of virgin products, blended products, accuracy of weight/quantity of repackaged products, accuracy and promptness of filling orders, cleanliness of warehouse and product
  • Perform Production Line Operator duties such as:
    • Operates production equipment (set up machines)and understands its normal operations
    • Ensures finished goods meets customer specification and requirements
    • Monitor machines for unusual noises, movement & functions
    • Test, measure finished products and record their results
    • Assist the Production Supervisor/Lead Person in achieving scheduling requirements
    • Use and read measuring equipment as required, i.e. scales.
    • Complete charting as required by Q.C. Department standards
    • Pursue ongoing goal of cost reductions
  • This list is not all-inclusive and may include other duties as assigned and necessary for the operation and management of the plant facility.  Will performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum three (3) months of work experience in a plant environment, chemical industry preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft office applications or other systems preferred
  • Ability to operate an industrial powered lift truck or forklift according to company procedures and governmental regulations required.
  • Equipment specific training may be needed to handle high-tech equipment or machinery
  • Ability to use and maintain respiratory protection equipment
  • Ability to learn proper methods for handling hazardous materials and wastes, with training
  • Preferred: training in 40 hour Hazpower, DOT, OSHA
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Bilingual - Read, write, communicate (English/Spanish), English preferred.
  • Preferred: Intermediate Microsoft Office Programs i.e.; Excel, Word or other systems preferred

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.

  • Required to wear personal protection equipment (PPE) including but not limited to full face respirator, chemical protection suite, steel-toed boots, rubber gloves, face shield, apron, etc.
  • Position requires occasional long hours, work on the evenings, occasional weekends or holidays when needed.
  • Full pre-employment Background check will be completed and must be able to pass the Drug & Alcohol Screening.
